Your Questions Answered

September 2009

1) When did you realise that you wanted to be an actor?I’ve wanted to be an actor for almost as long as I can remember, but I was 22 before I realised I had a chance to make a go of it. I enjoyed all forms of the work, both stage and screen although I don’t think musicals are my forte: my dancing was and I suspect, always will be worse than average.

2) If you could be granted one wish, what would it be and why?
If I had one wish it would be to keep on doing what I’m doing for as long as I’m able.

3) If someone wrote a series based around Alistair Deacon would you be up for it or do you prefer to keep on moving?
If someone were to write a series based on Alistair, I’d be a fool to turn it down. I’m sure it would be possible to move forward while doing such a project. The chances of that happening are pretty slim, I should think, the further we get from the original series.

4) Do you have a favourite Country?
I don’t really have a favourite country. I just like going to new places and seeing new things. I keep getting drawn back to the South of France and Italy. I guess they pretty high up the list.

5) What makes you laugh and what makes you cringe?Classic American sitcom (Seinfield, Frasier, Friends) and The Simpsons always make me laugh. A lot of reality TV makes me cringe and not that just because it’s taking drama off our screens (at least in Briton) and hence work away from people like me.

6) Do you ever catch yourself repeating some of Alistair’s famous lines and did Alistair’s personality rub off on you?Not a lot of Alistair rubbed off on me. My friends would soon let me know if started using Alistair’s turn of phrase rather than my own. I hope I’m as generous and as enthusiastic as he was, however, it’s just a shame I’m not as financially loaded!
